The North Hays County Volunteer Fire Department
Welcomes You to Our Website!
Welcome to the North Hays County
Volunteer Fire Department (NHCVFD) web site. The NHCVFD is based out of the
historic town of Dripping Springs, Texas. Dripping Springs is located 24 miles
west of Austin, Texas and is known as “The Gateway to the Hill Country.” The
actual town of Dripping Springs has a small but growing population of between
1500 and 2000. The surrounding hills are home to many beautiful subdivisions
that house the majority of our total population of just over 20,000. Hays
County has been classified as one of the fastest growing counties in Texas.
Dripping Springs is one of several “high tech bedroom” communities that
surround Austin, the capitol of Texas.
The North Hays County Volunteer Fire Department currently has three stations
which house the department’s fourteen pieces of apparatus. The department is
made up of approximately forty dedicated men and women who volunteer many hours
train and respond in order to protect their community.
We hope that you enjoy our website and urge you to explore the different areas
of the site to find out more about the North Hays County Volunteer Fire
Department and about specific ways to keep you and your family safe.
